Statistics - 2006 Statistics for the Municipal Bylaw & Enforcement Section

The Municipal Bylaw & Enforcement Section has the first line responsibility for the investigation and enforcement of the City of Medicine Hat Bylaws and various Provincial Statutes, Prisoner Security, Document Service and Fingerprint Processing.

In 2005 our section consisted of on supervisor, three members assigned primarily bylaw enforcement duties, four members to primarily cell block security and document service duties and 4 casual relief staff.

The Supervisor of the Section, is responsible for the development of policies and procedures, training, scheduling of manpower, recruiting, assigning of duties, supervision of section members and the supervision and coordination of contracted services related to parking enforcement and domestic animal control.

During the year 2005, Section members attended to 6798 calls for service, spent 5539 man hours guarding prisoners, fingerprinted 2754 persons, and made 9330 document services and attempts for service.
