S.T.E.P. Selective Traffic Enforcement Program

B.E.E.P. Bylaw Education & Enforcement Program

The Selected Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) for the month of February will focus on Distracted Driving.

On September 1st, 2011 new distracted driving legislation came into effect in Alberta.   This legislation restricts drivers from:

  • using hand held cell phones texting or emailing
  • using electronic devices like laptop computers, video games, cameras, video entertainment displays and programming portable audio player (MP3 players)
  • entering information on GPS units
  • reading printed materials in the vehicle
  • writing, printing or sketching

B.E.E.P. Bylaw Education & Enforcement Program

The Municipal Bylaw Enforcement Section of the Medicine Hat Police Service will be focusing on Off Leash Area Etiquette for the month of February 2012.
