Joint Forces Operation Checkstop
June 15 & 16, 2004

This checkstop incorporated the following agencies:
Medicine Hat Police Service, Motor Transport - Inspection Services, Calgary Police Service - Truck Unit, RCMP Calgary - Stolen Auto Unit, Customs and Excise, Gaming and Liquor - Tobacco Enforcement Unit, Dangerous Goods.

Over the two days, the JFO conducted the following:

- 419 - vehicles physically checked.

- 25 - vehicles weighed and 10 vehicles were overloaded.

- 135 vehicles checked for Dangerous Goods, there were 37 offences pertaining to this Act.

- Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Inspections (CVSA) - 57 vehicles were taken out of service. These vehicles were either repaired on site or towed away.

- 47 violation tickets were issued.

- 43 Traffic Violation Notices were issued for repairs.
