On Monday, September 5, 2005 a number of $50.00 USD bills were distributed throughout Medicine Hat. The approximate walue of these counterfeit bills is $1,500.00 At this time we are aware of 12 separate businesses have been affected thus far by the counterfeit bills being passed. The perpetrators who passed the counterfeit bills would purchase samall value items receiving Canadian change for the counterfeit bills. The Medicine Hat Police Service is Still investigating this occurrence.
