MEDIA RELEASE 05-023100 On 23 Sept. 2005 at about 1000 hrs. members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Special Operations Unit initiated a traffic stop of a 2002 Lincoln LS Black in Colour 5 Miles west of Redcliff on the Trans Canada Highway. Pursuant to an on going investigation the A male driver and Female Passenger
were taken into custody. A vehcile search incidental to arrest revealed six
one ounce baggies containing powdered cocaine hidden underneath the rear seat
of the vehicle. A small quantity of Mairhuana was also sezed from the This arrest is the result of an investigation started in May of 2005 into a major drug trafficking network, which is beleived to be a major supplier of Cocaine in our City. It is estimated that this group are responsible for the distribution of a half pound of cocaine daily. The Male and female, both residents of Calgary are held in Custody awaiting a bail hearing later today. This is just one of many shipments of cocaine arriving in our city daily.
