Impaired/ Pedestrian M.V.C.

September 16th, 2006 at approximately 02:50 a.m., both R.C.M.P. and Medicine
Hat Police Service members witnessed a 1999 red S.U.V. strike a pedestrian in
the Southbound lanes on the Allowance Avenue Overpass.

The victim, a 40 year old Medicine Hat man, was subsequently transported to
Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries.

The driver, a 20 year old Medicine Hat man, was arrested from the offending
vehicle which was stopped near the scene. The driver is currently still in
custody; several charges are pending including alcohol related offences.
