Police are requesting public assistance in gathering information from anyone
who may have witnessed a white 1993 Mercury Marquis traveling at a high rate
of speed west bound on Strachan Rd on October 14, 2006 at about 1:30 am. The
Marquis lost control and hit a light standard and then collided with the
stucco fence which runs along Strachan Rd. It is felt that the vehicle
contained either three or four persons all of whom left the vehicle and then
fled on foot. Total damage involved in this collision is estimated to be
about $12,000. Investigation into this matter has revealed that the Marquis
had been stolen earlier in the evening from the north part of the city and
that just prior to the collision there may have been a newer dark green truck
in the area which may be able to provide valuable information in solving this
crime.
