On October 17th and 18th, 2006 the Medicine Hat Police Service, along with
other enforcement agencies, conducted a joint vehicle Check Stop. 189
vehicles were inspected in the Medicine Hat area.

153 of these vehicles received a Level 1 Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance
(CVSA) inspection, which checks the mechanical well being of the vehicle. 39
of these vehicles were put out of service, which means they were unfit for
travel until certain criteria were met.

In total, 228 traffic violations were issued for offences encountered during
the check stop.
