The Medicine Hat Police Service continues to investigate and follow-up information regarding the dissappearance of Christopher McConnell ( DOB 1980-03-28). McConnell was reported missing May 22 after family and friends were unable to contact him while he was on his way to Kelowna from Medicine Hat. Police have been following up all leads and information. Medicine Hat Police have been in contact with other police agencies in Alberta and British Columbia regarding this investigation and have received full cooperation in assisting us in following up on information. McConnell has been placed on a Canada wide computer data base as a missing person. McConnell was last known to be driving a dark red 2007 Ford Focus with BC Plate 898 FTK which has not been located or observed to date.

Numerous investigational techniques have been used including checking into location of McConnell's cell phone. Police have confirmed that McConnell was in Cochrane at a gas station on the early morning of May 22. PREVIOUS INFORMATION RECEIVED BY OUTSIDE CONTACTS PUT MCCONNELL'S CELL PHONE IN THE MEDICINE HAT AREA. IT IS NOW CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE AND MCCONNELL MAY STILL BE OUT OF THE MEDICINE HAT AREA. POLICE AGENCIES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE LATEST INFORMATION.

Police are requesting the assistance of the public. Anyone that has information on the whereabouts of Chris McConnell or the location of the Ford Focus to contact police immediately at 529-8400 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477

Since then it is believed that the cell phone belonging to McConnell is back in the Medicine Hat area. Based on this information Police have conducted an extensive in the Medicine Hat area for McConnell and the vehicle with negative results.
