Police were notified of a break and enter in progress by an employee of
Jackson Dodge Chrysler located at 1500 Strachan Rd SE. The employee had
noticing a broken window during a routine check of the lot. The suspect male
was seen exiting the building and proceeded to get into a Silver 2005 Dodge
3500 pick up in the lot and exit onto Strachan Rd SE. Police located the
vehicle almost immediately and while attempting to stop the vehicle, it
accelerated away at high speed. Police followed the vehicle to a dairy farm
on South Ridge Dr SE, where a passenger in the vehicle opened the door and ran
from the vehicle. This person was apprehended a short distance away. Police
have identified the suspect driver and will be attempting to locate and
apprehend the individual in the next short while. Damage to the stole truck
is estimated to be $5000 and damage to the farmyard is estimated to be about
$3500.
