On August 7, 2007 police were called to a residence on Carry Court SE after
receiving a call that a resident within the home had pointed a firearm at
persons who were visiting. Police responded and secured the area surrounding
the house before making contact with the occupant. After a brief conversation
with the occupant, he willingly surrendered himself to police. A search of
the residence did reveal the weapons as described by the complainant. As a
result of this occurrence, police have charged an 83 year old male with
weapons offences. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 11, 2007.
No one was injured as a result of this occurrence.
