Medicine Hat Police were kept extremely busy over this past long weekend,
attending to over 465 calls for service. Some of the more serious calls
attended and previously released to the media were two complaints of armed
robbery, one at Food Plus on 4th Avenue SE and one on Carry Drive SE, near the
7-11. In both instances, suspects have been apprehended and charged. There
were also 12 break and enters, 9 of which were to residences and 3 to
businesses. No specific area in the city was targeted. There were eight
occurrences of assaults, four of which were domestic related. This weekend
sat a total of seven vehicles stolen, three of which were located after a
brief pursuit with police. Subjects in these pursuits have either been
located or identified by police and will be dealt with by way of charge.
