The Medicine Hat Police Service would like to advise citizens of a possible
long distance Real Estate purchase scam. A male suspect claiming to be in
England has contacted at least two different homeowners in Medicine Hat
indicating an interest to purchase their homes. These homes are were listed on
free internet real estate web sites. The male has requested the sellers
banking information be forwarded to him so that he can forward monies to pay
for their residential property. The police service would remind the public
never to give out personal information or banking information to unknown
persons.
