On the 12 December 2007 at 9:30 pm, a 42 year old male was driving his 1980 Ford F250 truck east bound in the 800 block of Industrial Ave S.E. Medicine Hat. The male lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch. The truck struck a lamp standard causing approximately $1500 to the lamp standard and $1000 to the truck, which wrote the truck off.

The driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle was removed from the damaged vehicle by Medicine Hat Ambulance and Fire Department. He was transported to the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital where he was treated for minor lacerations and soreness. Held for observation.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending. Alcohol may have been a factor.
