On December 21, 2007 at appr. 0255hrs, police attempted to stop a speeding pickup truck on South Ridge Dr SE. The truck made evasive action to get away from police and a pursuit was initiated.

The truck was pursued onto Strachan Rd SE, where it's passenger side tires were deflated by police spike strips. The pursuit continued to Dunmore RD SE, where the truck drove through the ditch and into the Medicine Hat Lodge parking lot. The driver and lone occupant then fled on foot and was subsequently taken into custody.

A 34 Year old Medicine Hat man is in custody on charges of Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, Impaired Driving, Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Undertaking. A Bail Hearing will be held Friday, December 21, 2007.
