The Medicine Hat Police Service has been investigating several incidents relating to the theft of electrical wire from local businesses. These thefts have a combined value of close to $30,000.

On January 11, 2008 members of the Police Service Major Crimes Section obtained a search warrant for a residence on 10 St SE. A search of garage produced some copper wire and stripped wire insulation.

Francis Forsyth 1965-08-06 has been charged with Possession of stolen property over $5000 in relation to one of the thefts in the Brier Park area.
