In early February 2008 the Major Crime Section of the Medicine Hat Police Service was conducting an investigation into the possession of child pornography. As a result of the investigation a search warrant was executed on February 12, 2008 that resulted in the seizure of a computer, computer storage equipment and numerous video tapes. Preliminary viewing of the data has revealed numerous images of child pornography. Fifty four year old Brian Lonsdale of Medicine Hat has been charged in relation to this offence and has been released to appear in Provincial Court on March 11, 2008 to answer to these allegations.
