On the evening of February 14th, 2008, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Special Operations Unit, executed 2 separate Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Search Warrants in Medicine Hat.

The First warrant executed in the 200 Block of 12th St NW resulted in the recovery of approximately 1 pound (16.5 Ounces) of cocaine and $16,500.00 in Cash money. Also seized from the residence were several weapons and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The Second Search warrant was executed on Ravine Drive South East and resulted in the Recovery of 40 tablets of Ecstasy. The total value of the drug seized during this operation was $37,560.00. Total amount of Cash Seized was $16,500.00.

As a result of this investigation 4 males and one female have been charged with the following offences: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Ecstasy, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Possession of a weapon dangerous to the Public Peace, Possession of Cannabis Marihuana, and several Breaches of various Court Orders.

Police are still looking to locate and arrest one person for these offences. The remaining persons are currently in Police custody and awaiting Bail Hearing.
