On August 20, 2008 at about 10:53PM police attempted to stop a vehicle on Strachan Rd SE suspected of impaired driving. The vehicle then led police on a brief low speed chase along Strachan RD SE going through two red lights before coming to a stop on the parking lot of Wal-Mart. The female driver then assaulted a police officer. A 35 year old woman faces charges of Impaired driving, evading police, dangerous driving, refuse breath demand, Assault Peace Officer, breach of probation and drive while suspended and will be in court date on 2008-10-16 to answer to these charges.

City police arrested three additional impaired drivers over the course of this same nightshift. Two other adult females and an adult male are also facing impaired driving and Exceed .08 charges.
