Donation to Chief Gordon Earl Leadership Legacy Fund

The Medicine Hat Police Association Athletic Committee presented a cheque in the amount of $500 to Chief McGrogan and Mike Christie.  Mr. Christie the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Medicine Hat and Southeastern Alberta, accepted the cheque on behalf of The Chief Gordon Earl Leadership Legacy Fund.  The money was raised from hosting a hockey tournament in November 2008.  The hockey tournament is an annual event for the Association and each year the Committee sponsors one organization with a donation of $500.

The Chief Earl Leadership Legacy Fund celebrates Chief Earl’s contributions to the community and honors his memory by recognizing Grade 6 students from within the two local school districts who demonstrate the qualities of future community leaders.  Parents of recipients are encouraged to place the awards into an existing or newly opened Registered Educational Savings Plan.
