Manslaughter Follow-up
On August 8, 2009 at about 1:46 AM, police attended to the report of a man
down at the rear of the Cecil Hotel, 733 4th St SE. Trevor Bergstresser was
found to be the victim of a violent assault.
On the evening of August 23rd, 2009 Bergstresser died in a Calgary Hospital as
a result of his injuries. Members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Major
Crime Section have located and charged two males in relation to this offence. Clarence WILLIAMS age 31 of Medicine Hat has been charged with
Manslaughter, Assault and Breach of Recognizance and Jackson TAYLOR age 22
has been charged with Manslaughter and three breaches of Recognizance.
Both males are to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Tuesday
August25th, 2009 at 0930 to answer to the charges.
An autopsy for Bergstresser is scheduled for August 25th, 2009.

09-22244 Aggravated Assault
On August 8, 2009 at about 1:46 AM, police attended to a report of a man down
at the rear of the Cecil Hotel, 733 4th Street SE. Upon arrival, Trevor
Bergstresser was found to be a victim of assault. He was transported to
the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for his injuries, and was later transferred
to Calgary Foothills Hospital. Bergstresser still remains in hospital at this
time.
The suspect responsible for this assault is unknown at this time. Police are
requesting that anyone who saw or has knowledge of this incident to contact
the Medicine Hat Police Service.
