On January 11th, 2010 Members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Major Crime
Unit arrest a 44 year old male in relation to two armed Robberies that
occurred on October 29th, 2009 and December 23rd, 2009. In both Robberies a
masked male walked into a Pharmacy, brandished a handgun and fled the scene
with a quantity of prescription narcotics.
After a 2 month long investigation involving Search warrants and numerous
interviews, members of the Major Crime Section arrested the male on January
11th, with assistance with the Medicine Hat Tactical Team in-front of the
provincial building located at the intersection of 4th Ave and 3rd St SE,
without incident.
The male who's name will be released after formal charges are laid, is to be
charged with 2 counts of Robbery, 2 counts of wearing a Disguise during the
commission of an offence, 2 counts of using a Fire-arm during the commission
of an offence and two counts of uttering Threats of Death.
The Male is to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on January 12th, 2010
at 2:00 p.m. to answer to the charges.

Armed Robbery
On the 29th of October, 2009 at approximately 6:00 p.m. a Caucasian male
entered the Crestwood Pharmacy located at 1827 Dunmore Rd SE. Once inside the
suspect brandished a handgun and obtained an undisclosed amount of
prescription narcotics. The suspect fled the store and headed Southbound in
the alley.
Suspect was described as white male 5'6" tall, 150 lbs wearing a mask,
darkhoodie, blue jeans and white runners.
