On Wednesday November 4, 2009 at 1:44 AM members of the Medicine Hat
Police Service responded to a domestic assault in the 200 block of 5 Street NW.
Investigation has revealed that a 33 year old male suspect forced his way into
a residence and assaulted a 31 year old female victim, from whom he was
recently separated.
The victim received non life threatening injuries and is currently in stable
condition at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.
The male suspect has been located and is also currently in the Medicine
Hat Regional Hospital in critical condition as a result of serious self
inflicted injuries.
Members of the Major Crimes Section continue to investigate the incident.
Charges are pending and the name of the suspect is not being released at this
time.
