The investigation of over 100 cats being housed in a local residence that
began in October of 2009 has concluded with charges against a 49 year old
male
and 29 year old female of Medicine Hat. Each have been charged with 3
offences under the Animal Protection Act. The charges include allowing
animals to be in distress, failing to provide proper medical care and failing
to provide proper shelter, ventilation and space. Both are to appear in
Provincial Court on 12 March 2010.
