Secondments to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games
Five Medicine Hat Police Service members are preparing to deploy over the next
couple of weeks to be part of the Integrated Security Unit for the Vancouver
2010 Winter Olympic Games. The Integrated Security Unit will be comprised of
police officers from across the country and will be coordinated by the
RCMP.
The Games will provide a unique and memorable policing experience to the five
participating members as this will be their first exposure to such a major
security event. The Service and the community will gain from the members
applying their knowledge learned once they are back at home.
The members will be each stationed at different Olympic venues and the
secondments vary from 19 days to 35 days in length. The following is a list
of the participating members: Sgt. Trevor Humphries, Cst. Jason VanMulligan,
Cst. Brian Bohrn, Cst. Devin Klein, Cst. Eric Marshall
