Fraud Scam... Again
Recently the Medicine Hat Police Service has received numerous complaints
involving a specific type of fraud scam. The fraudster whether human or with
a
computer generated voice will contact a senior citizen by phone and claim to
be the person's grandson or other relative. The fraudster will attempt
toconvince the senior citizen that he has been arrested and needs money
wiredto him immediately.
The Medicine Hat Police Service is reminding the public to never give out
money or personal information from a request over the phone or e-mail.
