Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Medicine Hat Police Victim Assistance! Our organization relies on our volunteers to provide the services we offer to the community.

Volunteer Opportunities
Caring, dedicated and mature people are needed to provide front line support, information and referrals to victims and their families affected by crime or tragedy. We're looking for volunteers who share our genuine desire to help others in a time of crisis, and who have strong communication skills including the need of maintaining confidentiality.

Volunteer Training
Advocates participate in a comprehensive training program consisting of over 50 hours of training.

How Can I Volunteer?

  • Are you looking for a unique, challenging and rewarding volunteer experience?
  • Are you a caring and compassionate person?
  • Do you enjoy learning new skills?
  • Do you want to give back to our community by helping others?

It takes a special person to become a Volunteer Victim Advocate with our program. The Medicine Hat Police Victim Assistance is looking for men and women to become Victim Advocates to provide support, information and referrals to victims of crime or tragedy.

Potential volunteers must be willing and able to attend all mandatory training, pass an enhanced security clearance and commit 100 hours a year for volunteering.
